I stitched this vest as a gift for my mother for Christmas 1994. I used the design from Candace Bahouth's "Flowers, Birds, and Unicorns: Medieval Needlepoint". I stitched it on navy lugana in counted half-cross stitch. For every square on the chart, I stitched two stitches one across and two up. This gave me the same detail as the chart but brought the vest to a size 3 without distortion. Unfortunately, the sheen of the Marlitt is lost in this picture. I stitched the moon, sun, stars, ana accents in the city in Marlitt. The rest is all DMC floss. It was a great pleasure to stitch. Each half took approximately four months. It has been finished wonderfully with navy silk.
