Brad and I made this quilt top while watching The Colorado Avalanche go for the 1996 Stanley Cup. I rotary cut different size squares and strips of various plaids I'd been collecting. Brad then handed me pieces haphazardly to piece together with the Featherweight set up in front of the tv. We made the quilt in three pieces and then stitched those together to make it 90" x 95". I later took another evening and backed it with a 90" x 95" piece of thick flannel to be the perfect fall bed quilt. For the 1997 Stanley Cup, who knows? Maybe finish off hand piecing my Grandmother's Flower Garden?
